Doesn’t it sometimes strike you how very limited our human perception still really is?
Many of us have been seriously focused on dropping old belief systems, expanding our awareness, and becoming a better and more authentic version of ourselves. From my perspective, there is still so much we just don’t see because we are looking at reality through the eyes of what we know, i.e. through the eyes of what we are comfortable with.
This is even apparent on the practical and 3D level. When we are executing a task, it is so easy to miss parts of it. Some everyday examples are being in the store and being so locked in to what you mostly buy in that particular place that you don’t even register the other products around you which might actually suit you better at that point. Or when you are cleaning and you think you are passionate about making the space as beautiful as possible, you might walk back into the space at a later point and see obvious things that you totally missed previously. Or writing a piece and while editing it afterwards, missing a typo no matter how many times you go over it.
Once again, these are only 3D occurrences. Imagine how much we miss on the more expanded levels of connections between everything, the effect of what our actions can have on others and, for instance, energies that we would be able to see when being less locked into our ‘old’ reality. There is certainly room for huge improvement!
The human mind segments reality all the time and habitual behaviour or the firing off of ingrained neural pathways strengthens this segmentation of reality.
When we are conscious, we are able to have a bigger overview. Making sure that we don’t run our old (and boring) neural pathways also helps. On our ascension path, we need to actively choose new neural pathways. Don’t choose for comfort and for what you know, but for instance, take a different route, literally. Use different ways to walk through what you are doing so that you stay open and alert to what is around you.
You might recognise the fact that a route on the road seems to get shorter the more you have walked or driven it. This is the case because every time you take the same route, more input is being mapped in the mind so that the route becomes so known to you that you easily travel the road on automatic pilot, limiting your perception and maybe missing beautiful moments or grand potentials.
Action and vigilance with self is required if we want to grow beyond our old ways of defining ourselves. Choosing to look at reality from a higher perspective is essential, sometimes literally taking a step back and looking with fresh eyes at the situation you were involved in. Then actively make choices beyond the comfort zone, beyond the preference of the personality, so that consciousness can prevail more and more.
Of course dropping more and more of our old identity will naturally increase our consciousness and awareness. This requirement almost goes without saying for an ascension student. Still it is good to remind ourselves of this with every heartbeat. New habits are easily created. Continuing to see every moment as new and experiencing any situation with all of our senses and from a fresh perspective will help tremendously to ensure that we are not just running old neural pathways and will continue to open us up to being fully present.
